The success of the South Tryon project is an example of Chris Herman recruiting 3rd party independent firms with whom he has longstanding relationships to help solve complex issues found in the field. When it was discovered that the site had poor soils that had not been identified on geotechnical reports, Chris was able to price several different deep foundation issues that included piles, rammed aggregate piers as well as mat and post tensioned slabs. Cost/benefit analysis was done on each viable solution and the CHC team was able to identify the preferred solution. Once the solution was in place, the team was able to assist the developer in amending the contract with the national homebuilder that was to purchase the completed lots.
